Overview

We are seeking a proactive and versatile Systems Engineer to support and maintain a corporate IT environment in a fully onsite capacity. This individual will be the primary in-person technical resource for end-user support, troubleshooting, and infrastructure maintenance. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative setting and is committed to delivering a smooth and secure technology experience across the organization.

This position requires onsite work five days per week.

Position Mission

The Systems Engineer will provide hands-on IT support, manage core systems, administer devices, and take part in the ongoing improvement of security and operational reliability. This role partners with internal teams and external vendors to ensure efficient and stable IT operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person technical support for laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and applications
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, authentication, and network issues
  • Manage helpdesk tickets and ensure timely resolution
  • Set up and maintain workstations, conference room technology, and peripherals
  • Support employee onboarding/offboarding, including device configuration and account provisioning
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues
  • Administer Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and endpoint management tools
  • Support and maintain AV and video conferencing systems
  • Assist with updates, patching, backups, automation, and endpoint security initiatives
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for stability improvements
  • Support security technologies such as MFA, firewalls, antivirus, DLP, and intrusion protection systems
  • Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and internal user guides
  • Collaborate across departments and with vendors to resolve technical issues
  • Participate in on-call rotation for IT incident response

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years in IT support, systems engineering, or systems administration
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting experience supporting end users
  • Proficiency with Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Microsoft 365, and Azure AD
  • Understanding of networking basics (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, OSI model)
  • Familiarity with PowerShell, Python, or other automation/scripting tools
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with VDI technologies
  • Familiarity with automation tools or CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of cloud security architecture and standards
  • Exposure to incident response practices
  • Experience in a security-focused or highly regulated environment

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 4 years in IT support or systems administration
